There is no safe way to sell CVV data on Telegram. Selling card verification values is a crime under 18 U.S.C. § 1029 in the United States. Channels that host the trade carry high scam, ban, and arrest risk. The trade also fails on its own terms: much of the data is dead on arrival, and both sides lose money in exit scams.
What CVV and CVC codes are
The CVV2 (Visa), CVC2 (Mastercard), and CID (American Express) are the digits printed on a card. Visa uses three digits. American Express uses four. The value is not held in the magnetic stripe or the EMV chip, so a card number alone will not complete an online purchase.

Legal status in the US
18 U.S.C. § 1029 covers access devices. That term includes card numbers, CVV values, and account credentials. Section 1029(a)(3) makes it a crime to traffic in one or more access devices with intent to defraud. Penalties reach 10 years for most violations and 15 years for aggravated cases, plus fines and forfeiture. State laws add separate charges.
Enforcement and platform policy
Telegram's Terms of Service bar illegal use. Since September 2024, Telegram's stated policy allows disclosure of a user's IP address and phone number to authorities in response to valid legal requests in criminal cases. The DOJ has charged operators of carding shops and card data markets. A channel admin is a target, not a protected party.
Why Sell CVV on Telegram Groups
PCI DSS rules on CVV storage
PCI DSS Requirement 3.2 forbids storing sensitive authentication data after authorization. The set includes full track data, CAV2, CVC2, CVV2, CID, and PIN blocks. Merchants, processors, and issuers do not keep the CVV. Anyone who claims to hold a large live CVV list has to explain a source. Most such claims do not hold up.
Risk inside the segment
- Exit scams are common. Buyers send crypto first and receive nothing.
- Card data ages fast. Issuers block reported cards, so lots go dead within days.
- Sellers face complaints, chargebacks, and identity theft claims from cardholders.
- Channel accounts get reported and removed, and funds held in them are gone.
Legal work with card data
Card data work exists in fraud analytics, chargeback review, payment operations, and PCI compliance. Employers run background checks. Roles at issuers and processors use tokenized or masked data, not stored CVV values.
Cardholder protections
US cardholders have zero liability for unauthorized card charges under card network rules. Report a lost or stolen card and request a new number. Read the statement each month and flag charges you do not recognize.
