Search that phrase and you get pages of threads with shop names, "vouch" screenshots, and Telegram handles dropped in the comments. I have read a lot of them while researching card fraud, and the pattern never changes. The shops being pushed are either straight-up scams that take your crypto and vanish, or real criminal marketplaces selling stolen card data. Neither one is a place you want to send money.
Why a legitimate CVV shop cannot exist
The CVV is the three or four digit code printed on a card. It exists so a merchant can prove the person typing the number is holding the physical card. Card network rules bar merchants from storing that code after authorization. That one rule kills the whole business model. Anyone sitting on a database of CVVs to sell got it from a breach, a skimmer, or a phishing page.
Buying that data is receiving stolen financial information. In the US it is a federal crime, not a gray area, and it is prosecuted regularly. Selling it is worse. So when a thread asks for the "best" shop, the honest answer is that the category itself is fraud.
What is actually behind those Reddit recommendations
Most of the threads are marketing wearing a costume. Look at the accounts doing the recommending: young profiles, no post history outside carding subs, and a habit of naming the same two or three sites. Then look at the sites. They want crypto only, they promise "fresh" or "non-VBV" stock, and their idea of accountability is a screenshot of someone saying "vouched."
The exit scam is the standard ending. A shop builds a reputation for a few months, takes a wave of deposits, then goes dark and rebrands under a new name. The people who lost money go back to Reddit and post warnings, and those warnings get buried by the next round of fake vouches.
If someone offers to buy card data from you
Some of these threads are aimed at people holding cards, not buying them. The pitch is that you can cash out a card or "run" a payment for a cut. That is a money mule setup. You end up as the named account on a fraud transaction, which means you carry the legal exposure while the person who recruited you disappears. Reddit bans this activity, and the DMs offering it are scams aimed at you, not opportunities.
The option I would pick instead
Use a virtual card number from your own bank or card issuer. Almost every major US issuer now lets you generate a separate number in its app, sometimes a single-use one, sometimes a number you can freeze or cap. It costs nothing, it carries the same fraud protections as your main card, and if the merchant gets breached the number that leaks is not the one tied to your real account. That is the closest thing to a safe "shop" for card numbers, and it is the one I actually use.
Other legitimate ways to limit exposure
- Tokenized wallets. Apple Pay and Google Pay swap your card number for a device-specific token, so the merchant never sees the real one.
- Prepaid or reloadable cards from major issuers. You cap the balance, and you keep dispute rights that crypto payments never give you.
- Card masking services run by regulated fintechs. Read the terms, confirm the issuer, and check that disputes are handled by a bank.
- Single-merchant virtual cards for subscriptions you do not fully trust.
Red flags that show up in every scam shop
- Bulk pricing per card, usually a dollar or two, with no explanation of where the data came from.
- Crypto only, no chargeback path, no company name, no address.
- Support that lives entirely in Telegram or Discord.
- Language like "fresh," "non-VBV," or "high balance" used as a selling point.
- Reviews posted by accounts that only ever review that one shop.
If your card details are already out there
Freeze the card in your issuer's app, then order a replacement. Check the last few statements line by line, since card testing often starts with small charges. Report identity theft at IdentityTheft.gov and file a complaint with the FBI's IC3 if money was actually taken. You are not liable for fraudulent charges on a credit card, but the clock matters, so report fast.
Bottom line
There is no best CVV shop on Reddit, because the legitimate version of that business does not exist. The threads are ads, the shops are scams or stolen-data markets, and the only card numbers worth generating are the virtual ones your own issuer hands you for free.
